Guinness Chocolate Cupcakes, with Baileys Ganache centers, Baileys Buttercream.

We set our leprechaun trap out, but we did not catch the little guy. He did however leave green glitter all over the place, and some pieces of his rainbow with us.

January 2013

Preparing for…oh yeah…the Year of the Snake! (which happens to be my year)
Come Feb. 10th, bring on the red envelopes, noodles, rice cakes, oranges, and boba tea.
I want to try my hand at making bao-zi and zongzi (freakin yum).
I crave going to Assi to gaze upon rows of little dried fish and red bean buns.
Total umami. 100%

Fall 2012

You all know FALL is my favorite time of year, and so to kick off what we do best (CUPCAKES), we are going to do it “million-dollar style”…I’m thinking right now that a caramel cupcake with cinnamon bun buttercream frosting, topped with some crystallized ginger would be just the PERFECT thing.  These are for my good friend, who always looks like a million bucks when she goes out…and yes, she hails taxis in this small town, because she can. Happy Birthday JS!

Caramel Cupcake with Cinnamon bun buttercream and crystallized sugar. – totally like a million bucks!

Salted Caramel Mochachino

Mocha cupcakes topped with coffee buttercream and salty caramel sauce.

As I was driving home to my parents this weekend I noticed the pretty colors of Fall…and how much COLOR i have in my life. I have things that are Red: warm and comforting; Yellow: bright and sunny and always smiling; Orange: glowing with passion and fire; Blue: cool and calming; Purple: sassy and fancy; Green: new and fresh; Pink: bedazzling and pretty; Black: powerful and fearing….and all the shades in between: teals, browns, and fuschias.  As Thanksgiving approaches, i realize i have much to be thankful for because it is a beautiful, colorful world.  What colors your life?
